LOCOPIAS awarded DNV Type Approval
SARC is proud to announce that its LOCOPIAS loading computer software has received its first type approval from DNV. The type approval certificate is the first that SARC has received from DNV, which is one of the largest classification societies.
SARC, manufacturer of PIAS ship design software and LOCOPIAS on-board loading computer software, is proud to announce that its LOCOPIAS loading computer has been approved by another major IACS Classification Society, following multiple previous approvals from Lloyd’s Register. The new approval serves as additional verification that LOCOPIAS remains up to date in the world of onboard Loading Computers.
This approval follows after a number of ships for which LOCOPIAS has been supplied and separate approval has been applied for. But the earlier type approval PIAS had with GL and DNV starting to use PIAS contributed to the closer collaboration. A type approval should ensure that ship specific approval will also be smoother.
